Actively Engage Learners with Standards-Based Songs |

Actively Engage Learners with Standards-Based Songs presents educators with effective, fun, memorable, and classroom-tested techniques using instructional music as a vehicle for curriculum integration while promoting student proficiency of the national and state academic standards. Music has proven successful in learning and current brain-based research supporting learning through music will be discussed focusing on instructional strategies such as frontloading, building scientific vocabulary, motivating all students including English language learners, and student accountability. Student samples that empower learning are modeled using visual anchor charts and lyric sheets, as well as audio sound clips. All participants will leave with strategies and resources they can implement in their classrooms immediately. Length: 1-4 hours Grades: k-5 The length and content of this inservice can be modified to meet the diverse needs of your students.
